Keeping you informed
As a dedicated registered training organisation, we prioritize keeping you informed about critical industry changes. Today, we’re excited to share insights into the upcoming modifications to the National Construction Code (NCC) 2022. These changes are set to shape the future of construction in Australia.
Major Changes:
1. Livable Housing: New requirements for Class 1a and Class 2 units, promoting accessibility. This initiative, developed collaboratively with advocacy groups, will enhance housing options for Australians with disabilities, older citizens, and their families.
2. Consistent Volume Structure: NCC 2022 adopts a new structure and clause referencing system, enhancing content organization and web accessibility. Old clause numbers will remain as handy references on the right-hand side of the document.
3. Housing Provisions Standard: A significant format change to align NCC Volumes. This standard, referencing Acceptable Construction Practices (ACPs), streamlines compliance with Deemed-to-Satisfy (DTS) Provisions in Volume Two.
4. Lead-Free Plumbing Products: Volume Three introduces a requirement for lead-free plumbing products, safeguarding drinking water from 1 September 2025. This reform promises long-term health benefits for all Australians.
